Foment UP has reached an agreement with global tech company Epson, for them to be our new technological partner. Foment UP, promoted by Foment del Treball, connects startups with established companies with the aim of creating strategic partnerships. The startups selected for Foment UP programs will have access to technological innovation as well as the added value offered by Japanese brand products.
“For Epson it is enormously satisfying to be part of projects such as Foment UP that work to generate an entrepreneurial ecosystem by putting disruptive innovation in contact with already consolidated companies. Both parts share the commitment to provide social and economic value and improve people’s daily life through technology”, explained Ernest Quingles, CEO of Epson Spain, France and Portugal; and Vice President of Business Sales Europe.
The president of Foment, Joaquim Gay de Montellà, stresses the importance of innovation, “Without innovation there is no future. In a world where technology and business models are changing rapidly, it seems obvious to think that business organizations also have to make a change and promote new projects within our organizations; Foment UP is truly a new project in many ways “.
The first edition of Foment UP was launched with Gas Natural Fenosa with a tailor made program looking for innovative projects in Data & IoT. The two startups selected by GNF are Moca Platform and Sensing Solutions. The CEOs leading both projects are María Fernanda González and Silvia Gómez.
IoT & Big Data startups selected for the first edition of the program will receive a technology pack which includes an Epson EB-1785W projector and a multifunction WorkForce Pro WF-C5790DWF printer.
The professional projector is light and highly compact, an essential element for professionals who need to make presentations in different locations. The multifunction printer is characterized by low printing costs and low energy consumption without sacrificing sharp results. Both devices are very intuitive to use, easy to configure and can be used through smartphones.
